Davina McCall was born on 19 October 1967 in London.
After her parents Florence and Andrew split up when Davina McCall was 3, she lived with her grandparents, but moved in with her father when she was in her teens.
In an interview with The Times, Davina McCall said of her mother, who had died the previous year:
“We hadn’t really communicated in the last ten years. She sold stories about me to the Daily Mail, one about us attending a Narcotics Anonymous meeting together, which you just don’t do.”
Davina McCall went to Godolphin and Latymer School and then sang as a waitress in Paris, before returning to England and becoming a nightclub hostess.
Davina McCall had a tough time in her twenties, when she was an extensive drug user. Amongst those worried by her drug habit, was Eric Clapton, whom she dated.
Famous for presenting Channel 4’s Big Brother, Davina McCall began her presenting life on MTV.
Davina McCall has also presented God’s Gift, Don’t Try This At Home, Streetmate, Popstars 2: The Rivals, as well as major awards shows including the Brits, the British Fashion Awards and the Q Awards.
Davina is married to former Pet Rescue presenter, Matthew Robertson, whom she met whilst walking a dog in the park. It was Davina’s second marriage having briefly been married to actor Andrew Leggett.
Shortly after presenting Big Brother series 6, where she attracted some complaints for her interview of Makosi on the last night, Davina McCall started to present the BBC series, He’s Having A Baby.
In February 2006, Davina McCall got her own chat show on BBC1 on Wednesday nights, however it failed to attract large audiences and was shelved after just one series.
Nevertheless the BBC stated their commitment to finding projects for Davina and in July on BBC1 McCall presented Sport Relief alongside Chris Evans and Gary Lineker.
Davina has tattoos of horns on her hips, a rose on her wrists and an alien on her bottom.
In the Radio Times, Davina revealed her feelings on Shirley MacLaine:
“She was the first person I ever interviewed on TV and was such a cow …”
Davina was named TV Presenter of the Year in the 2006 Glamour Awards.
In September 2006 Davina McCall gave birth to a son, Chester, at her home in Surrey. Davina McCall and Matthew Robertson already had two daughters: Holly and Tilly.
In March 2007, Davina McCall presented Let’s Talk Sex.
In 2007, as well as presenting the normal coverage of Big Brother, Davina McCall was also the host on Sunday nights of Big Brother on the Couch.
In 2008, Davina McCall released her DVD, Davina – Super Body Workout.
In 2009, as well as presenting Big Brother, Davina McCall also hosted Big Brother’s Big Mouth.
In 2009, Davina McCall started actively using a Twitter account called This is Davina.
January 2010 was a busy month for Davina, who as well as hosting Celebrity Big Brother was also presenting Sky’s new series, Got To Dance.
In May 2010, Media Guardian reported that Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell were to host a new ITV1 series reuniting lost relatives called Long Lost Family.
Also in May 2010, Davina McCall hosted The Million Pound Drop, a nightly Channel 4 gameshow.
